Program a Satellite Change Polarity
Erase a Satellite Custom Satellite Names

This receiver features IRD (NCC500) & UHF (NCC600) remote control, digital stereo on videocipher channels, 13 preprogrammed polarity formats for C/Ku satellites, 90 satellite location memory, parental lockout on individual satellite channels, 40 favorite channel memory and internal LNBF switching.

**Caution - These receivers may lock up sometimes after the programming is finished.

How to Program a Satellite

1. Go to a satellite that is next to or near to the satellite to be programmed.

2. Turn the receiver off.

3. Press and hold PGM on the remote (located above the power button), until the Main Menu appears.

4. Use channel up/down to select Receiver Setup. Press DISP and the Receiver Setup menu will be displayed on the screen. (see Figure 1 below). Check the line where is displays Store. If it is off then, use the channel up/down to select it and then press DISP to change it to on. Press STORE. Proceed with step 5.

POLARITY: STD (V/H, LNBF) (dual LNB -use V/H, servo- use STD,LNBF-use LNBF)
LOWEST SAT: EAST (WEST) (actuator location. EAST-east side of dish)
STORE: ON (OFF) (ON needs to be out of brackets for store to work)
REMOTE IN USE: STD (NEW) (always on standard)
DISPLAY: TEXT (PICTURE) (select TEXT so prog. menu will be on screen if signal is low.)
DISP - CHANGE SETTINGS
STORE - SAVE SETTINGS
CLEAR - RETURN - NO SAVE

(Use channel up/down to select the option, and then use DISP to change the selection, then press STORE to save changes)

5. Use channel up/down to select Add or Edit a Satellite. Press DISP and the Programming menu will be displayed. (See Figure 2 below)

6. Press SAT and then the satellite name and satellite number of the satellite to be programmed (see Figure 2). The satellite name should appear on the screen. If not, press it again or use a different name to program the satellite. A customized name may be entered if desired. Go to "How to Enter a Custom Name" section.

7. Press STORE.

8. Use channel up/down to select a channel that will be active on the satellite to be programmed.

9. a) If you are starting from a satellite with the same format, then there should be a picture coming in behind the writing.

b) If you are starting from a satellite with the opposite format, then there should not be a picture coming in behind the writing.

If the format is incorrect then do step 10, otherwise skip to step 11.

10. This step is to reverse the polarity. Press CLEAR one time. If it returns to the Main menu instead of the (Figure 2), select Add or Edit a Satellite again. Press DISP and the Programming menu will be displayed. In the Programming menu, press the satellite name and then the satellite number of the satellite to be programmed. The name of the satellite should appear on the screen as well as the Format. Press BAND and the Format number should start blinking. If the format is "1" then press antenna left one time for "2", if it is "2" then press the antenna right one time for "1". Press STORE.

11. Press antenna left for east or antenna right for west in direction you need to go until you find the satellite to be programmed. Stop when you come to any picture or black screen and verify where you located. If it is the correct satellite then proceed with step 12. Otherwise continue moving until the satellite is found. Possible Problem: you are picking up the satellites with the opposite polarity, go to step 10.

12. Press STORE to save the settings.

13. Press POWER to exit the programming menu.

14. It is going to sort the satellites, (clearing all the non-programmed satellites from the call list). When it is done, it will return to normal viewing. **This is where the receiver sometimes locks up. If it does, try to turn off, then unplug the receiver. If it does unlock the receiver then call NextWave.**

15. If it works and the receiver does not lock up, then verify that it stored the satellite correctly

16. This completes the programming progress.


HOW TO ERASE A SATELLITE

1. Turn the receiver off. If it is already in program mode, then go to step 3.

2. Press and hold PGM until the Main menu appears.

3. Use channel up/down to select Delete a Satellite. Press DISP.

4. Press SAT and then the satellite name and satellite number of the satellite to be deleted. (i.e. SAT G 5).

5. Press STORE.

7. Press POWER to exit the menu or CLEAR to return to the Main Menu.

 

HOW TO CHANGE THE POLARITY (WHEN NOT IN PROGRAMMING MODE)

1. Press EXT.

2. Use channel up/down to select Polarity.

3. Press DISP to change the polarity.

4. Press STORE.

 

HOW TO ADD A CUSTOM SATELLITE NAME

1. While in the Add or Edit a Satellite Menu, press PGM.

2. Use "2" and "8" to change it to the desired letter.

3. Use "6" to move the cursor to the right.

4. Use "4" to move the cursor to the left.

5. Press STORE.

6. Return to step 7 of the programming section.
