Personal Cable PC-2000 Satellite Receiver

(This is similar to a Zenith/Drake 1524)

This receiver features a 100-channel priority view memory, both C-Band and Ku-Band compatible, up to 50 programmable satellites, stereo audio outputs, the ability to lock out up to 16 channels, automatic satellite peaking.  It also features a large bilingual on-screen display, a four-program event timer and an IR remote with an optional UHF remote.

HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. Go to a satellite near to the satellite to be programmed that has the same polarity.

2. Select a channel that is active on the satellite to be programmed and on the satellite that you are starting from.

3. Press MENU. Press 7 for Program Mode Access. Enter the password, 2-0-0-0.

4. Press 3 for Program Satellites, then 1 for Add Satellite.

5. The Add Satellite menu will be on the screen with all the pre-programmed satellites displayed. There are several ways of selecting a satellite to program.

a. Press the letter then the number of the satellite to be programmed.

b. Use the left/right arrows to select one of the pre-programmed names.

c. If the name is not in the list of satellites or the letter of the satellite is not on the remote, then use the left/right arrow to move the cursor beside Custom Sat.

d. Press ENTER. Use the up/down to select the letter, press the right arrow once, then the up/down to select the number. Press ENTER.

6. Press ENTER and the programming screen will be displayed with the picture behind it. (See below).

  7. Follow the proper procedure:

-If you are starting from a satellite with the same format, then tap the left/right arrows in the correct direction until a different picture or black screen appears behind the menu.

-If you are starting from a satellite with the opposite format, then press NXT to reverse the format from H to V or V to H, then tap left/right arrows in the correct direction until a picture appears behind the menu.

8. Verify that the picture is the correct satellite.   If it is then go to step 9, otherwise continue moving east or west until a different picture or black screen appears. Use CHANNEL UP/DOWN to change channels if necessary.

9. Press and hold ENTER for 2 seconds to store the satellite. It will return to the previous menu.

10. Press CANCEL for the previous menus, press POWER to exit the menus. Press it again to turn it back on if necessary.

11. This completes the programming process.

 

PARENTAL LOCK

(Possible Master Passwords: HELP-911, 911, 0000)

(Up to 16 channels may be locked out on C-band)

  To turn on/off the parental lock

1. Any channel that is in the lockout list will just be a black screen when the lock is on and will have a decimal beside the channel number. If the lock is off the channel will be viewable even if it is in the lockout list.

2. To turn the lock on or off, press MENU then 8 for Parental Lock.

3. Enter a four-digit password or the master password.

4. To add or delete channels to or from the lockout list follow the procedure below.

  To add/delete a channel to the lockout list

1. Make sure the Parental Lock is off.

2. Press MENU. Press 7 for Program Mode Access. Enter the password, 2-0-0-0.

3. Press 4 for Parental Lock List.

4. Select the desired satellite by pressing SAT repeatedly.

5. Select the desired channel with 0-9 or Channel Up/Down.

6. It will display “Listed” or “Unlisted” depending on if it is in the lockout list or not.

7. Press ENTER to add or delete this particular channel to or from the lockout list.

8. Repeat steps 4-7for additional channels.

9. Press NXT to see all the channels that are in the lockout list. Press CANCEL to exit this menu.

10. Press POWER to exit the menus. Press it again to turn it back on if necessary.

 

  HOW TO ERASE A SATELLITE

1. Press MENU. Press 7 for Program Mode Access. Enter the password, 2-0-0-0.

2. Press 3 for Program Satellites, then 2 for Delete Satellite.

3. Use Up/Down arrow to select C or KU band.

4. Use Left/Right arrow to select the satellite to be deleted.

5. Press and hold ENTER for 2 seconds to delete the satellite.

6. Repeat steps 4-5 for additional satellites.

7. Press CANCEL for previous menus or press POWER to exit the menus. Press it again to turn it back on if necessary.
