HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. Press SAT and the name and number of the satellite to be stored (i.e.: SAT-S-1) and see if the satellite is already programmed.

-If the receiver does not move to the satellite to be programmed, then go to a satellite that is close to the satellite to be programmed with the same polarity and then skip to Step 3.

-If the receiver does move to the satellite, then proceed to step 2.

2. After the dish moves to the satellite, check to see if there are any active channels on the satellite. If a channel comes in, then try to determine which satellite it may be. This will help you know if you need to move east or west when tuning to the appropriate satellite.

Note: If this is the satellite name you are going to use, then you have to move east or west from this position to program the new satellite.

3. Go to a channel that will be active on the satellite to be programmed. Safety hint: If you do not find anything after tapping for a while in one direction, then try the other direction. This may prevent you from taking the dish too far to the east or west and damaging the actuator. Tap EAST or WEST in the direction of the satellite to be programmed. If you do not where you are starting from then begin tapping either EAST or WEST until you find some kind of picture or black screen, then begin from that point. If it is the correct picture, then skip to Step 6, otherwise continue moving.

*Possible problem: When you are tuning you are picking up the satellites that have the opposite polarity, then go to step 4.

4. How to fix Possible Problem: Stop when you tune a picture in. Press SAT - 0-1 to reverse the format and if the picture does not disappear, then press SAT -0-2 to reverse the format and the picture should disappear now.

5. Continue moving east or west until the correct satellite is found.

6. After finding the correct satellite then move the store switch located on the back of the receiver in the lower-left corner to the “ON” position. Caution: there is also an input switch beside the store switch, it may cause all channels to go snowy if moved.

7. Press STORE on the front of the receiver to save the position.

8. Move the store switch on the back of the receiver to the “OFF” position if it was in the off position to begin with. Leave the switch “ON” if you are programming more than one satellite.

9. This completes the programming process.
