UNIDEN 4300 SATELLITE RECEIVER

Programming a Satellite Erasing a Satellite

LEGEND
Blue = Buttons on Remote or Receiver

-These receivers will have a separate dish positioner. Sometimes this receiver is used for G5 stationary dishes and will not have a dish positioner

-The remote control has a switch in the top-right corner that slides left and right. This switch selects either the dish positioner or the receiver, whichever is needed. The switch is also color-coded.

The yellow buttons [switch left] correspond to the dish positioner (east/west, prog, and call).

The white buttons [switch right] correspond to the receiver (c/ku, pol, skew, video, audio, and channel up/down).

  HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. With switch to the right, go to a satellite that is next to or near to the satellite to be programmed.

2. [Move the switch to the left.]  Select a channel that is active on the new satellite and on the satellite you are starting from.

[Move switch to the right] - If the new satellite has the same format as the satellite you are starting from, then tap EAST or WEST until a different picture or a black screen is found.

- If the new satellite has an opposite format than the satellite you are starting from, then tap EAST or WEST just until the picture is lost. [Move switch to the left.] Press POL one time to reverse the format.

3. Verify the picture,

- If the picture is correct then proceed to step 4.

- If the picture is not correct or there is no picture then [move switch to the right] and continue to move east or west until correct picture is found.

4. The satellite is ready to be stored now. [Make sure the switch is to the right], then press PROG then the letter of the satellite, then PROG, then the number of the satellite and then PROG again.

(EX: PROG - G - PROG - 5 - PROG. This procedure should have stored the satellite.

5. Verify that the satellite is stored correctly. It should display the name of the satellite on the dish positioner. If it does not display the name, you may have waited too long between pressing the buttons or pressed them incorrectly; In this case try step 4 again. If it still does not work then the memory could be full, in this case see Erasing a Satellite below.

  ERASING A SATELLITE

1. With the switch to the right, select a satellite that is stored in memory but not used as an active satellite. To see the stored names press CALL and then press EAST or WEST.   This will scroll through the entire list of names stored in the dish positioner. Stop when it comes across one that you do not need.

2. Let the dish move to the satellite.

3. [Move switch to the left.] Check some channels to verify the satellite is inactive. If it is a satellite that you need to program, then return to step 1 of erasing procedure. Otherwise, [move switch to the right] press and hold PROG until the name disappears or begins to blink. The satellite should be erased now.

4. Return to step 1 of Programming a Satellite and try to program again.
