Programming a Satellite Parental Locks Erasing a Satellite

The Drake 1624 features a 100-channel priority view memory, both C-Band and Ku-Band compatible, programmable LNB supply voltages for dual C-Band or LNBF’s, up to 50 programmable satellites, stereo audio outputs, the ability to lock out up to 16 channels, automatic satellite peaking and a large bilingual on-screen display. It also includes a four-program event timer, responds to VCR PLUS+ codes and an IR remote.

HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. Go to a satellite near to the satellite to be programmed.

2. Select a channel that is active on the satellite to be programmed and on the satellite that you are starting from.

3. Press MENU. Press 6 for Program Mode Access. Enter the password, 1-6-2-4. Press ENTER.

4. Press 3 for Program Satellites, then 1 for Add Satellite.

5. A list of all the pre-programmed satellites will be displayed on the screen. Use left arrow or right arrow to select a pre-programmed name. If the name is not in the list of satellites, then use left arrow or right arrow to select Custom Sat below the satellite names. The cursor will be blinking beside Custom Sat. Press the letter then number of the satellite to be programmed.

6. After selecting the satellite name or entering the name, press ENTER and the programming screen will be displayed with the picture behind it. See below:

7. Verify that the correct name is beside "Sat:", if not the press CANCEL and repeat steps 5-6.

8. Follow the proper procedure:

-If you are starting from a satellite with the same format, then tap the EAST or WEST button until a different picture or black screen appears behind the menu.

-If you are starting from a satellite with the opposite format, then use use left arrow or right arrow to select the Format. The "H" or "V" will be blinking beside Format, tap the up or down arrow one time to switch the format from H to V or V to H, then tap EAST or WEST until a picture appears behind the menu.

9. Verify that the picture is the correct satellite, if it is then go to step 10, otherwise continue moving east or west until a different picture or black screen appears. Use CHANNEL UP/DOWN to change channels if necessary. Use the AUTOPEAK button if necessary, it will display "Auto Sat Tuning" while auto peaking the picture.

10. Press and hold ENTER for 2 seconds to store the satellite. It will display "stored" at the bottom of the screen or it might return to the previous menu.

11. Press CANCEL twice, press ON/OFF to exit the menus. Press it again to turn it back on if necessary.

12. This completes the programming process.

PARENTAL LOCKS

To turn on/off the parental lock

(Up to 16 channels may be locked out on C-band)

1. Check to see if the Parental Lock light on the front of the receiver is on or off.

2. Any channel that is in the lockout list will be a black screen when the lock is on and will have a decimal beside the channel number. If the lock is off the channel will be viewable even if it is in the lockout list.

3. To turn the lock on or off press the LOCK button on the remote.

4. Enter a four-digit password if prompted.

5. To add or delete channels to or from the list follow the procedure below.

To add/delete a channel to the lockout list

1. Make sure the Parental Lock light is off.

2. Press MENU. Press 6 for Program Mode Access. Enter the password, 1-6-2-4. Press ENTER.

3. Press 4 for Parental Lock List.

4. Select the desired satellite with Up arrow or Down arrow.

5. Select the desired channel with 0-9 or Channel Up/Down.

6. Press LOCK to add or delete this particular channel to or from the lockout list.

7. Repeat steps 4-6 for additional channels.

8. Press NXTPRG to see all the channels that are in the lockout list. Press CANCEL to exit this menu.

9. Press ON/OFF to exit the menus. Press it again to turn it back on if necessary.

 

HOW TO ERASE A SATELLITE

1. Press MENU. Press 6 for Program Mode Access. Enter the password, 1-6-2-4. Press ENTER.

2. Press 3 for Program Satellites, then 2 for Delete Satellite.

3. Use Up arrow or Down arrow to select the satellite to be deleted.

4. Press and hold ENTER for 2 seconds to delete the satellite.

5. Press ON/OFF to exit the menus. Press it again to turn it back on if necessary.
