DRAKE 2400

The receiver has a door that opens up to reveal the programming buttons.

The Drake 2400 features a 20-channel priority view memory, both C-Band and Ku-Band compatible, programmable LNB supply voltages for dual C-Band or LNBF’s, up to 36 programmable satellites, mono or stereo audio outputs, the ability to lock out up to 34 channels, an on-screen display and an IR remote.

HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1.) Make sure that the satellite that you are programming is not already stored in memory.

2.) To do this, press SAT and then NUM button and see if the dish turns to the satellite.

-If the satellite is programmed, then the satellite needs to be erased. See the Erase a Satellite section.

-If the satellite is not programmed, then go to a satellite that is next to or near the satellite to be programmed.

3.) Select a channel that is active on the satellite that is to be programmed and on the satellite that you are starting from.

4.) On the front of the receiver: Slide the OPERATE switch to the left or into the satellite memory position and the display will begin flashing. (caution-there are a three switches in the same area, do not confuse this switch with one of the other switches that has an operate setting on the switch. The correct switch to move has three settings and the switch should be in the center to begin with)

5.) Follow the proper procedure:

-If you are starting from a satellite with the same format, then tap EAST or WEST until a different picture or black screen appears.

-If you are starting from a satellite with the opposite format, then tap east or west until the picture is gone, then press FORMAT on the remote one time. A picture should appear, if not continue moving east or west until a picture or black screen appears.

6.) Verify that the picture is correct. If it is, then go to step 7. Otherwise, continue moving east or west until the correct satellite is found.

7.) To store the satellite, press LIST on the receiver (bottom-left corner under panel) until the desired satellite name is displayed. If the name is not listed in the menu then press SAT and then NUM until the correct name appears.

8.) Press and hold ADD until a square flashes on the display below the format to indicate storage.

9.) Move the OPERATE switch back to the center position.

10.) This completes the programming process.

 

HOW TO ERASE A SATELLITE

1.) Move the OPERATE switch to the left or into the satellite memory position.

2.) Press LIST repeatedly until the correct satellite name to be erased is displayed. You do not have to be on the satellite to erase it.

3.) Press DELETE. The satellite name will flash indicating that it is ready to be deleted.

4.) If this is the correct satellite to be deleted, then press DELETE again. A square will appear in the display below the format to indicate deletion.

5.) Move the OPERATE switch back to the center position.

 

 PARENTAL SECURITY

The parental lock is controlled by the remote control and there is no password. The remote control needs to be secured or hidden if the parental locked out channels are not to be viewed. This means if you do not have the remote and the parental lock is on then you cannot use the receiver to see the channels that are locked out.

To turn on/off the parental lock

1.) Press the LOCKOUT ON to turn the lock on. When the lock is on the satellite dish cannot be moved. The channels that are in the lockout list will be black with no audio.

2.) Press LOCKOUT OFF to turn the lock off. All channels will be accessible.

To add a channel to the lockout list

(up to 34 channels)

1.) Press LOCKOUT OFF.

2.) Move the PARLOCK switch on the front of the receiver to the right or to the "PRGM" position.

3.) If the correct satellite name is not on the display, use SAT and NUMBER to select it. The dish does not have to move to the satellite.

4.) Use the channel up/down to select the correct channel.

5.) Press LOCKOUT ON on the remote to store the channel. The channel number will flash to indicate storage to the list.

6.) Repeat steps 3-5 for additional channels.

7.) Move the PARLOCK switch on the front of the receiver to the left or to the "NORM" position.

 

To delete a channel to the lockout list

1.) Press LOCKOUT OFF.

2.) Move to the satellite and channel that has the lock on it

3.) Move the PARLOCK switch on the front of the receiver to the "PRGM" position.

4.) Press the LOCKOUT OFF button and the channel number will quit flashing.

5.) Move the PARLOCK switch back to the "NORM" position.

 

HOW TO CHANGE SATELLITES

1.) Press SAT then NUM until the desired name appears in the display.

2.) After 3 seconds the dish will move to the satellite.

 

OR

1.) To move to the next satellite, press SAT then immediately press EAST or WEST to move to the next satellite in that direction.

 

OR

1.) Press or hold EAST or WEST to manually move the dish until the desired satellite name appears in the display.
