Uniden 4400R

1.) Go to a satellite that is next to or near to the satellite to be programmed.

2.) Select a channel that is active on the satellite that is to be programmed and on the satellite that you are starting from.

3.) Follow the proper procedure:

-If you are starting from a satellite with the same format, then tap the EAST or WEST button until a different picture or black screen appears.

-If you are starting from a satellite with the opposite format, then tap the EAST or WEST button just until the picture is gone, then press the POL button on the remote control one time, a picture should appear, if one does not then continue moving east or west until a picture or black screen does appear.

4.) Verify that the picture is correct. If it is, then go to step 5. Otherwise, continue moving east or west until the correct satellite is found.

5.) To store the satellite: Press the MENU button on the remote one time and the Main Menu will be displayed.

6.) Press the number 3 for Sat Memory (see figure 1).

7.) If the name is correct, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, press number 1 and an arrow will be displayed beside the line number 1. Use the up or down arrow to change the name until the correct name is displayed. (EX: Galaxy, Spacenet, Telstar, etc.)

*Note* The type and number will change also. If you cannot find the correct satellite name try step 8 to get the correct name.

8.) If the type is correct, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, press number 2 and an arrow will be displayed beside the line number 2. Use the up or down arrow to change the type until it is correct. (EX: G, S, T, etc.)

9.) If the number is correct, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, press number 3 and an arrow will be displayed beside the line number 3. Use the up or down arrow to change the number until it is correct.

10.) If all the information is correct, then press the ENTER button. It is going to display either "Satellite is Stored" or "Memory Full".

11.) If it displays that it stored it then this completes the process.

12.) If it displays that the memory is full, then there are two options to storing the satellite.

-The first option is to store the satellite using a name that already exists and is not a satellite that you use.

-The second option is to erase a satellite that already exists and is not a satellite that you use, then store the new satellite with the correct name.

Option 1

A.) If the Sat Memory menu is still on the screen, press the CANCEL button to exit the menus.

B.) Press the CALL button to bring up the Satellite Call Menu. The name of a satellite will be in the center of the screen, use the up or down arrow to scroll through the stored names until you find a satellite name that you can use.

-If you are not sure of a name they do not use then press CALL again to move to the satellite to check it. If you moved to the satellite to check it and it is not OK to use this name then repeat this step. If it is OK to use this name, then press CANCEL and start over at step 1 of the programming procedure and use the name that you selected when you get to step 7.

Option 2

A.) If the Sat Memory menu is still on the screen, press the CANCEL button to exit the menus. Go to the erase a satellite section.

B.) After erasing the satellite, return to step 5 or step 1 of the programming procedure depending on what you do in the erase a satellite section.

TO ERASE A SATELLITE ON A 4400 R

1.) Press the CALL button to bring up the Satellite Call Menu. The name of a satellite will be in the center of the screen, use the up or down arrow to scroll through the stored names until you find a satellite name that you can erase.

2.) Press CALL again to move to the satellite that was selected.

3.) Check some channels to make sure that you do not have the satellite name stored for a different satellite.

4.) If it is OK to erase the satellite, then press MENU to get the Main Menu.

5.) Press the number 4 for Sat Delete. The screen will display "Sat Name F2", "Are You Sure?"

6.) Verify that the correct name is on the screen, if not, press MENU then CANCEL and then do step 1 again. If the correct name is on the screen press ENTER and the screen will display "Has Been Deleted".

7.) If it does not display that it was deleted or you did not see it, then do step 1 of erasing a satellite again and then continuing the rest of the steps if it was not deleted.

8.) If the name was deleted then return to step 1 of the programming procedure.
