The DIRECTV equipment you choose depends on what type of programming and services you want to receive.

Every DIRECTV System includes three components: a small satellite dish, a set-top receiver and a remote control. And every DIRECTV receiver gives you access to more than 225 digital-quality channels, plus a customizable on-screen program guide with a built-in "Locks and Limits" feature for rating and spending control.

Most of our programming, including local channels for many cities, comes from the satellites at our primary orbital location -- 101 West Longitude (WL). The standard 18-inch round dish is designed to receive signals only from this satellite location.

We deliver local channels in some cities, our DIRECTV PARA TODOS^TM Spanish-language service and high definition television (HDTV) from 119 WL, while local channels for other cities are broadcast from 110 WL. Our multi-satellite 18x24-inch oval dish is specially designed to receive signals from all of our current satellite locations. (Additional equipment is required to receive programming from 110 WL.*)
